About
Art on 56th is a contemporary art gallery founded in Beirut in 2011 by Noha Wadi Moharram, its founder and director, and based since 2012 in a historic house on Youssef Hayek Street in Gemmayzeh. It represents emerging and established artists from Lebanon, the Middle East and beyond, and has made gender balance across its programme a stated aim since its founding.
The gallery runs solo and group exhibitions, including an annual summer group show, as well as educational work with schools and younger audiences. Its artists include Mouneer Al Shaarani, Sara Chaar, Zouhair Dabbagh, Rafik Majzoub, Edgard Mazigi and Reem Yassouf, and it has taken part in fairs including Art Dubai, MENART Fair Paris, Art Cairo, Beirut Art Fair and Contemporary Istanbul.
