Dyala Khodary

Dyala Khodary was born in 1979 in Beirut, Lebanon, and graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University in 2002. She paints in acrylic on canvas, wood, linen, kraft paper and tin plates.

Beirut is her subject: staircases, rooftops, balcony railings, mosaic floors, corbels and the city's cast-iron drain covers, repeated as patterns and often joined by puddles, birds, flowers and zips. Masraf Beyrouth, made before the economic crisis, sets a drain cover among cobblestones, and the series Beirut en motif I and II turn to the city's built heritage. Off the Grid (2026) takes the tangle of electrical cables over Beirut as its motif.

She has shown with Art on 56th since 2012. The gallery held her solo exhibitions Tailor-made (2015), Beirut in Patterns (2018), Le Corbeau et Le Regard (2023) and Off the Grid, curated by Noha Wadi Moharram (2026).
