About
Rebirth Beirut is a Lebanese non-governmental organisation established on 21 September 2020 in response to the Beirut port explosion of 4 August 2020. Founded and chaired by Gabriel Fernaine, it works on the rehabilitation of the city, with projects including street lighting, traffic lights, potholes and drain covers.
The organisation turned its offices, in a 100-year-old building on Gouraud Street in Gemmayzeh, into a cultural space. It aims "to become a catalyst for enriching the cultural scene and for promoting local and international artists through exhibitions and other events." Recent shows include A Thousand Faces, Inevitable by Oussamah Ghandour and Roots & Wings (2026). It also sells artworks online in support of its projects.
