In a Continuum is a solo exhibition of paintings by Dariush Hoseini at Dastan's +2 Fereshteh space in Tehran, on view from 16 October to 6 November 2026. Shown in Gallery 1, it brings together nine large canvases in acrylic, dated 2022 to 2026. The paintings depict scenes of everyday life in a park, a bazaar, a swimming pool and a zoo. It is the artist's first solo show with Dastan +2.

The series looks back to the Persian painting tradition and borrows the working rules of miniature painting. Figures appear in complex view, so that full face, profile and three-quarter angles sit together in one picture; in Deadend Street the device shapes hands and feet. Linear perspective is set aside: in No Diving, tile reflections far from the viewer are painted at the same size as those close by. No figure or building casts a shadow, in keeping with the even light of the older tradition. Patterned surfaces, such as the rectangles in Remembering Abbas Kiarostami and the mouldings in Solitude, bind foreground and background together.

At the Rug Store (2026) measures 210 by 170 centimetres. Other works on view include The Firefighter (2023), Encounter (2024) and Party at the Embassy (2022). In an editorial text published with the exhibition, Sohrab Mahdavi observes that the multiple viewpoints give the characters an exaggerated and comic look. He places the series after some thirty years in which Hoseini worked through Western perspective, naturalistic realism and abstraction. By his account, the turn to Persian conventions took shape over the five years before the show.

Hoseini was born in Tehran, where he lives and works. At the University of Tehran he studied painting and illustration, then taught painting from 1996 to 2011. In 2004 he founded the Ariush Art School. His work appeared at Dastan before in the group exhibitions Figures (2018), Resonance (2026) and A Collection (2026). The exhibition design is by Aidin Xankeshipour.
