Biography
Fatime Zahra Morjani was born in Casablanca and studied architecture. She first worked in public administration while developing her technique. She later spent four years in Ethiopia with the United Nations and also lived in Poland. Her first solo exhibition, Synapses, opened in Warsaw in 2010.
Back in Morocco from 2013, she showed Coriolis (2014), built around the ritual of water. Kairos followed in 2015, with tar, dead leaves and the melhfa, the cloth worn by Sahrawi women. Obsidienne opened at the Institut français de Rabat in 2018. Taxidermie du Paysage (2019) put plants at the heart of the work.
Rituels, curated by Anaïs FA, ran at the Artorium in Casablanca in 2020. Galerie Shart presented Analogies in 2024 and Biosphaerae in 2026. Ecology runs through all of it, in seeds, bark, lace, plants and salvaged materials.
