Biography

Ardziv is the artist name of Lucy Poshoghlian, a painter of Armenian heritage who works in Lebanon. She paints on canvas in oil, acrylic, oil pastel and water pastel, building compositions from bold colour, and signs every painting in both English and Armenian.

Ardziv means eagle in Armenian. She chose the name so that her work would be known as the work of an Armenian artist, and the bilingual signature is meant to carry Armenian script into the homes where her paintings hang. Her oil painting Puzzle received the Best Design and Best Colour prize at Galerie Mona Lisa in Paris in 2008. Later works include The Crashed Diamonds (2022), in acrylic and water pastel, and Into The Blues (2024), in acrylic and oil pastel.

Solo exhibitions include Galerie Mona Lisa, Paris, in 2008; Dream of a Soul at the Haigazian University Art Centre in 2012; A Light in the Darkness at Kulturzentrum in 2019; and Comeback at L'atelier by Maher Attar, Beirut, in 2024. She took part in the Salon des Artistes Indépendants in Paris and in Jabal, a 2006 selection organised by Fransabank. Since 2025 she has shown with Artists of Beirut, including Un Autre Monde at Arthaus, Beirut, in 2025.
