État(s) de passage is a group exhibition of thirteen artists at Galerie Delacroix in Tangier, the gallery of the Institut français de Tanger. Curated by Achraf Remok, it runs from 17 September to 17 October 2026. Between them, the artists use painting, sculpture and embroidery, photography and experimental cinema, and installation, design and digital arts. Entry is free.

Its subject is how these artists move across territories and cultures, and across disciplines and identities. The venue's text names eight cities along these paths, from Rabat, Casablanca, Tétouan and Marrakech to Paris, Brussels, Marseille and Zurich. Remok draws on the idea of déterritorialisation from Deleuze and Guattari, a term he has said he uses with caution. The artists were born between 1985 and 2000. Several are self-taught. Others trained in France, at Penninghen, the Beaux-Arts de Paris or Villa Arson in Nice. Schools elsewhere include La Cambre in Brussels, the Royal College of Art in London and the Art Institute of Chicago.

The thirteen artists include Hiba Baddou, Yasmine Hadni, Hanane El Farissi, Zineb Mezzour, Amina Azreg, Hind Moumou and Rida Tabit. Also showing are Sabrine Lahrach, Kamil Bouzoubaa-Grivel, Maïssane Alibrahimi, Samy Snoussi, Margaux Derhy and Joséphine Vallé Franceschi. Yasmine Hadni builds her paintings from her family's photographs, where memory and fiction meet. Hanane El Farissi starts from image, body and space, and above all from the image of her own body. Zineb Mezzour uses ink, ceramics and photography to study fractal structures in nature. Hiba Baddou showed her solo project Paraboles at the same gallery from 12 May to 12 June 2026. Margaux Derhy's installation was made with about ten women at an embroidery workshop in Sidi R'bat, Souss-Massa.

The project began in Marrakech in February 2026, at IZZA during the 1-54 fair. It then travelled to the Villa des Arts de Rabat, where Fondation Al Mada hosted it from 1 to 29 July 2026. The Tangier showing forms part of the Institut français du Maroc's 2025 to 2026 cultural season, J-Lioum, Ici et maintenant. Partners include the Centre d'art moderne de Tétouan, INBA, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, IZZA and Fondation Al Mada. Remok is an independent curator and art critic who writes regularly for Diptyk.
