Sama Beydoun

Sama Beydoun is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist, born and raised in Beirut and based in Paris. She works in photography, design, typography and painting, around visual culture, social causes and collective stories.

Mother tongue, a photo-film shown at the Circulations festival of young European photography in Paris in 2025, follows Lebanese people in Paris and the mothers and grandmothers left behind in Lebanon, using inherited recipes as the bridge between them. What Remains photographs her grandfather's house in Bint Jbeil, near the southern border, which she last saw in 2025 and which has since been destroyed. Some of its film images came out blurred through a technical fault, others in the green tones of expired film shot in 2024.

What Remains was shown in Hkeeli Ya Jnoub at Beit Beirut in 2026 and is included in Geographies of Re-union at Marsah, Tripoli, in 2026.
