Geographies of Reunion

Geographies of Reunion opens at Marsah in Mina, Tripoli, on 9 October 2026 at 5pm and runs until the end of October. It is the opening exhibition of the second Marsah ArtWeek, which takes place from 9 to 18 October under the theme Geographies of Re-union.

The exhibition combines works from Ehkeeli Ya Jnoub, an exhibition previously hosted at Beit Beirut, with visual art made through Marsah's own programmes. Featured works include Buffer Zone by Farah Berrou, We're Nearing the Pomegranate Season by Rabab Chamseddine, After Supper by Adeeb Farhat, What Remains by Samma Beydoun, Orfeo & the Beasts by Caroline Hatem, Crossing by Fatima Gomaa and In Between the Alleys by Mona Ayoub, who is artist in residence at Marsah Studio.

The festival's text proposes that "the periphery is not merely a location outside the center, but a space of artistic production, encounter, innovation, and possibility." It brings together local and international artists whose works "engage with questions of land, imagination, belonging, and the realities of our shared present."

Alongside the exhibition, ArtWeek presents 40 Stones of Dahieh Rubble, a performance by Hashem Hashem and Petra Serhal; Aayshin, Can't Complain, a dance piece by AlSarab; a concert of songs by Sheikh Imam by Sandy Chammoun; a concert by the Egyptian oud player Hazem Chahine; The Snake of Abu Ali River, a shadow theatre piece by Marsah Studio resident Rached Bchennaty; Jogging by Hanan Hajj Ali; and The Dome Sessions by Firas El Hallak with Makram Aboul Hosn and Ghassan Sahab.

Bringing works first shown in Beirut to Tripoli, the exhibition is part of a festival built around art made and shown outside the capital.
