Fady Chammas

Fady Chammas is a Lebanese painter born in Beirut. He works in watercolour and acrylic, painting the traditional houses, streets and landmarks of Lebanon on canvas, in formats from small squares of 13 centimetres to canvases of 100 by 100 centimetres.

Chammas graduated from the Beirut School of Fine Arts in 1985. His subject is the built and natural heritage of Lebanon, and above all the old Lebanese house, its roofs, balconies and lamps. Beirut is a recurring subject: paintings from 2020 and 2021 include Red Roof 2, Beirut Color and Beirut Never Dies. Beirut 4, an acrylic on canvas of 100 by 100 centimetres, was shown in the online exhibition of the Beirut non-profit Rebirth Beirut.

He has exhibited at Al Ahram Art Gallery in Cairo, Zaman Art Gallery in Beirut and the Baskinta Cultural Center. His paintings are shown by Carré d'artistes in Beirut, where they were included in the group exhibition Métaphores in 2026.
