Design Doha
Doha, Qatar, established 2024
A design biennial set up by Qatar Museums and held every two years in Doha.

About
Qatar Museums founded Design Doha in 2024 as a biennial devoted to design from Qatar and the wider MENASA region. The initiative began under Qatar Museums' Chairperson, Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and returns every second year. Its Director is Fahad Al Obaidly, and Glenn Adamson serves as Artistic Director.
The first edition took place in Msheireb Downtown Doha in 2024, with twenty-four exhibitions across fourteen venues, eighteen panel discussions and eleven public programmes, and recorded 118,000 visitors. Its exhibitions included Arab Design Now, curated by Rana Beiruti at M7, and Colors of the City: A Century of Architecture in Doha. In 2025 Design Doha presented Tiamat by AAU ANASTAS at the 24th Triennale Milano.
The 2026 edition runs from 5 November 2026 to 31 January 2027. Its hub is Fereej Al Asmakh, where heritage houses, courtyards and sikkas (lanes) serve as venues, and Arab Design Now is staged at Building i22, Msheireb Downtown Doha. The programme includes Public Design Commissions curated by Javier Peña Ibáñez, the Design Doha Prize, judged by a jury headed by India Mahdavi, and Mexico as guest country. Design Doha develops its projects with local institutions including M7, Liwan, VCU Qatar and Msheireb Properties.
