Single Frame

Single Frame is a group illustration exhibition at Laleh Art Gallery in Tehran, curated by the Iranian Illustrators Society. It presents framed illustrations by members of the society, selected from children's and young adult books. The opening took place on Friday 25 September 2026, from 4pm to 8pm, and the show runs from 26 September to 20 October 2026. The gallery is on Fatemi Street, beside Laleh Hotel at the northern edge of Laleh Park.

The gallery names Parviz Kalantari, Gholamali Maktabi, Farshid Mesghali, Nooreddin Zarrinkelk, Ali Akbar Sadeghi and Farideh Shahbazi, together with other Iranian illustrators. Its text describes pictures that began life inside books for children and teenagers. Each one is meant to stand on its own, with a composition, a narrative and a world that do not depend on the printed words around it.

In the installation views the gallery has published, the illustrations are small framed pieces, most with white mounts and white frames, with a few in dark or wooden frames. They hang in tight grids and looser groupings on white walls under track lighting, with a small label beside each group. A display rack of printed material stands on the floor between the wall displays.

Visiting hours are Saturday to Wednesday, 10am to 6pm, and the gallery is closed on public holidays. Of the artists named, Farshid Mesghali was born in Isfahan in 1943. He joined the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in Tehran in 1968, and animation, film posters and children's book illustration form part of his record.
