Press release
Mission Art in Mar Mikhael, Beirut, presents At the Margins of Desire, a solo exhibition by Mary Kaady, from 6 to 20 November 2026. The opening is on Thursday 5 November at 6pm. The gallery is on the first floor of the Jabre Building on Armenia Street.
The show brings painting and sculpture together. Kaady's canvases combine crepe paper with acrylic paint. Her sculptures join foam, wire, wood, paper and silicone. Through these surfaces she looks at the thinking and feeling that pass between people. The work on the exhibition poster is a sculpture with two crusted columns. They hold up a jagged crown set with an orange sphere, above a heap of white balls.
Kaady is a Lebanese artist born and based in Beirut. After a master's in fine arts at the Lebanese University, she now teaches art at university level. Her practice draws on psychology, philosophy and the inner life of the individual. An earlier series, Between Life and Death, followed the death of her father. She also writes, and words have begun to enter her work.
Visitors can see the exhibition from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm.
