Mary Kaady

Mary Kaady is a Lebanese artist, born in Beirut, where she lives and works. Her master's degree in fine arts is from the Lebanese University. She teaches art at university level and also writes.

She works across painting, sculpture and mixed media, and treats experiment as part of the process. Her materials include wood, plaster, fabric, wire, foam, silicone and acrylic paint, built up into textured surfaces. Her subjects come from human nature, psychology and philosophy, and from the private feelings that shape behaviour. Nature is also a source for her work. Words and written language are entering her pieces more and more.

After the death of her father she made the series Between Life and Death, about loss and the passage between states. In 2022 she took part in Voyage, an online exhibition of the Culturally Arts Collective. In November 2026 she shows paintings and sculptures in At the Margins of Desire, a solo exhibition at Mission Art in Beirut.
