Biography
Tansu Köse was born in Istanbul in 1994 and lives and works in the city. She is a painter. Her canvases show ordinary domestic things, such as beds, chairs and tables, in dark interiors. She finished at Avni Akyol Anatolian Fine Arts High School in 2012, then studied painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
Her subject is what stays behind when a person has left. Shifts of feeling, and the spaces and relationships kept in memory, appear as objects that hold loss, absence and belonging. The series Söyleyeceklerim Var (I Have Things to Say) includes oil-on-canvas works dated 2026, measuring 30 by 40 centimetres and 40 by 40 centimetres.
Köse took part in Mamut Art Project in 2019 and in BASE in 2020. In 2021 she was in the group show One, No One and One Hundred Thousand at Labirent Sanat, Istanbul. Her first solo exhibition, The Shadow Remains, is at KAIROS, Istanbul, from 2 to 17 October 2026.
