Biography

Mohammed Fakhroo is a Qatari writer, filmmaker and photographer who works across still photography and the moving image. His pictures dwell on familiar places that people tend to pass without noticing, and on repeated objects and small everyday gestures. He works as a director-producer at Q37. Editions Art Space and Analogue Qatar have both shown his photographs.

His series Feed Me approaches consumerism from several directions. For Sale?, made during the 2025 to 2026 Tasweer Residency, grew out of that series. It follows souqs, shops, markets, workers and mannequins, together with products, waste and staged self-portraits, and shifts between documentary observation and constructed scenes. Its title is left open, asking what is bought and what is used up along the way. During the residency he slowed his process down, working on sequence and returning again and again to his subjects.

Feed Me earned three category nominations at the 1839 Photography Awards. For Sale? is shown in As the Image Unfolds: The Language of Athar at Bayt Al Wakrah in Al Wakrah, from 26 October to 15 December 2026.
