Biography

Mohammad Hossein Emad was born in 1957 in Arak, Iran, and works as a sculptor and educator. His work includes wood sculpture and public monuments in Tehran. A unique wooden piece from 2025, measuring 80 x 80 x 40 cm, appears on the page for his 2026 solo exhibition at Etemad Gallery.

From 1981 to 1993 he worked as a painting teacher in Arak, and in 1993 he held his first solo exhibition at Afrand Gallery, Tehran. He taught sculpture in his own studio from 1991 and as a professor at the University of Art, Tehran, from 2006 to 2019. He led a wood sculpture workshop in Gilan in 2013 and took part in wood sculpture symposia in 2006 and 2013.

His public works include the Beheshti Monument and Wazir, both from 2004, and statues of Professor Hessabi in Arak, Bushehr and Tehran. At the 4th Tehran Sculpture Biennial in 2005 he received a first prize and was selected as best artist. Books on his work were published in 2009 and 2019. Etemad Gallery lists him as a represented artist.
