Vahid Danaiefar

Vahid Danaiefar was born in Tehran in 1983 and lives and works in Istanbul. He works in painting, video and installation. His solo exhibition Liquid Fear at Simbart Projects in 2026 brings together painted canvas, draped textile, video monitors and wall-mounted objects.

His practice started in painting and later extended into video and installation. The Manchester Contemporary art fair describes his subjects as social and political, in particular the strains within Middle Eastern societies as they face modernity. Liquid Fear, shown in 2026, treats fear as a quiet condition of everyday life. His earlier solo show Offside Trap took place in Tehran in 2020.

Danaiefar completed a B.A. in painting at Azad University in 2007 and an M.A. at Sooreh University in 2010. His solo exhibitions took place at Azad Art Gallery and O Gallery in Tehran and at Opera Gallery in Dubai. Group shows include Opera Gallery in London, the Drawing Museum in Tehran and the Bangkok Triennale. Simbart Projects represents him.
