Biography

Dina Targam is an Egyptian painter, born in Cairo in 1990, who lives and works in Cairo. She paints mainly in oil, sometimes with mixed media, often on large canvases. Her subjects are landscapes, flowers, foliage and other organic forms, built up in loose, gestural brushwork.

She moves around a canvas as the composition develops, and often bends perspective by enlarging some elements and shifting the space between them. Her earlier paintings were abstract and intuitive, made without a fixed plan. Picasso Art Gallery lists a numbered series of 37 paintings, many dated 2023. For Palm Tree in 2026 she turned to her studio, its light and greenery, in works such as Light Found Its Way In (2025).

Targam completed degrees in architectural engineering and visual arts at the American University in Cairo in 2012, and this training shapes her sense of composition and proportion. She showed A Life Worth Living, a solo exhibition, at Eklego Design in Cairo in 2016. Picasso Art Gallery has since given her five solo exhibitions, from A New Beginning in 2017 to Palm Tree in 2026. She has shown in group exhibitions at Van Gogh Art Gallery in Madrid and at Art Fair Leipzig, both in 2019.
