Biography
Arghavan Borujeni is a painter born in Boroujen in 1988. She works in acrylic on canvas, on formats from 20 by 20 centimetres up to 160 by 240 centimetres. Her paintings show sparse, hazy settings, often built around a draped table, plates, candelabra or empty chairs. Her earlier exhibitions appeared under the name Marziye Ghasempour.
Borujeni works in series. Revolving Play, from 2020, was followed by the Second Celebration series in 2024 and That Delightful Lie in 2025. Shirin Gallery describes the work as simple on the surface but charged with memory, with needless detail removed. It points to a recurring mood of quiet celebration and to figures from childhood such as Pinocchio.
Borujeni studied painting to bachelor's level at the University of Art in Neyshabur, then completed a master's at Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran. Her teaching posts are at Pars University and at the University of Art, both in Tehran. The Iranian Painters Association counts her as a member. Shirin Gallery in Tehran has given her solo exhibitions in 2020, 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
