About
Picasso Art Gallery is a commercial gallery on Hassan Assem Street, off Brazil Street, in Zamalek, Cairo. Ibrahim Mohamed Abdelrahman opened it in 1996. It grew out of a framing workshop he had set up in 1971, after training in frame making from the age of 14. The gallery says the painter Hussein Bicar suggested its name.
Its programme centres on Egyptian painting and sculpture, from modern figures to younger artists. Recent exhibitions include Selection of Works by Enaam El-Shahed in April and May 2026 and Nostalgia by Gamal Meleka in September 2026. Works by Omar El Nagdi, George Bahgory, Kamal El Feki and Mahmoud El-Dewihi appear in its collection listings, and it has published books on Ahmed Chiha and George Bahgory.
The gallery took part in MENART Fair in 2024 and in an art fair in Abu Dhabi the same year. The Zamalek space has more than one hall and is open Monday to Saturday, 11am to 9pm.
