L'Atelier 21

Founded in Casablanca in 2008, L'Atelier 21 is a gallery of modern and contemporary art dedicated to the discovery and promotion of Moroccan art. It represents artists from Morocco and its diaspora, whose dual cultural belonging feeds singular practices open to a wide range of contemporary questions.

The gallery describes itself as the first Moroccan gallery to take its artists to international art fairs, from the early 2010s, and it continues to support them over the long term with institutions, collectors and international audiences. Its roster runs from modern masters such as Farid Belkahia, Mohamed Chabâa and Larbi Cherkaoui to contemporary figures including Hassan Hajjaj, Safaa Erruas, M'barek Bouhchichi, Chourouk Hriech and Saïd Afifi, and it keeps up a dialogue with African scenes through artists such as Hako Hankson and Derrick Ofosu Boateng.
