Safaa Erruas

Safaa Erruas was born in Tétouan in 1976 and graduated from the city's Institut National des Beaux-Arts in 1998. For more than twenty years she has developed a minimalist body of work at the crossroads of drawing, installation and sculpture, marked by the recurring use of white, which she associates with absence, silence, fragility and immateriality. Working with needles, pins, razor blades, thread, gauze and cotton, she builds pieces of great formal precision in which delicate surfaces stay in tension with the potential violence of their materials.
