About
KAIROS is a contemporary art gallery in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. Ezgi Yıldız founded it in 2022, and it presents artists who work across a range of media from a space on Meşrutiyet Caddesi.
The gallery describes its approach as close to the artist: it takes part in the making of the work, from first idea to realisation, and favours a mentoring relationship. It says it supports emerging artists and gives space to marginalised voices, including women and LGBTQ+ artists. It also reports partnerships with cultural institutes and embassies.
Its exhibition programme has included Can Incekara, Kazım Şimşek, Murat Balcı, Irina Lunkova, and a joint show by Elif Özen and Zeynep Arçay titled Night. Organisers of the seventh Menart Fair list İlhan Sayın, Gülnihal Yıldız and Ümmühan Yörük as artists represented by the gallery.
