Blue Wind Project

Blue Wind Project is a contemporary art gallery in Sidi Bou Saïd founded by Khadija Hamdi, an art historian and curator with a doctorate in Islamic art history from the Sorbonne who has worked at the Institut du monde arabe and Sotheby's. It occupies the historic space of Le Violon Bleu, the gallery founded by Essia Hamdi in 2003, which from 2010 onwards staged a series of exhibitions devoted to contemporary art from the Arab world.

The gallery conceives exhibitions as a context for research, storytelling and encounter, with a programme built around the rediscovery of emerging and mid-career artists whose work reflects the social concerns of the Global South, including artists of the diaspora. Its roster includes Asma Ben Aissa, Younes Ben Slimane, Fredj Moussa and the estate of Fatma Charfi, and it has shown at Investec Cape Town Art Fair and LOOP Barcelona.
