Fatma Charfi

Fatma Charfi studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Tunis, pursued doctoral studies in aesthetics at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and trained further at the Institut d'Art Visuel in Geneva. Her multidisciplinary practice spanned installation, sculpture, performance, photography, video, drawing and painting, centred from the late 1980s on the Abrouc (plural Aberics), anthropomorphic figures through which she explored power, representation and vulnerability.
