Studio, Wounds, and Battles

Studio, Wounds, and Battles is a group exhibition of seven artists curated by Alisa Bagdonaite at Dom Art Projects, Warehouse 40, Al Khayat Avenue, Al Quoz 1, Dubai, from 23 September to 11 October 2026. It is a presentation of the first Studio Support Program at Dom Art Projects.

The programme did not require new work or set any objectives. The venue says it gave each participant space and time to use as best fitted their practice. The works on show therefore vary in their level of completion. Some are finished works, while others are fragments of research, sketches or components of a larger process. "The artist's studio is a very particular space. It is a place of creative freedom, experiments, and artistic missteps," the venue writes.

The artists are Aisha Alhammadi, Divyaaunshi Purohit, Joumana Mortada, Meher Afroz Vahid, Rabila Kidwai, Sara Masinaei and Teng Miras. The press release for the programme describes them as emerging artists based in the UAE. Sara Masinaei (b. 1982, Tehran) works across installation, performance, photography, video, audio and mixed media.

The title is borrowed from Cathy de Monchaux's retrospective at the Palais de Tokyo. According to the press release, the programme was introduced during a period of geopolitical tension. It ends with two exhibitions: this group presentation and Masinaei's solo show Boundaries and Breaches, at the same venue from 23 September to 18 October 2026. Admission is free.
