Little Boy

Little Boy is a solo exhibition of photographs by Georges Yammine at Difaf Gallery, Jacaranda Building, Mar Mikhael, Beirut, from 6 to 17 October 2026. Presented by Galerie Tanit, it shows giclée prints of toy constructions in which bullets and spent casings sit among bricks and miniature vehicles.

The pictures are built from LEGO bricks, toy trucks and bright plastic buckets, combined with ammunition. In Little Boy 9, a child's tipper truck carries a bucket heaped with bullets, photographed whole against a plain white ground. Seen from above, other scenes read as maps or cities made of metal and plastic. Galerie Tanit's text describes the series as setting a child's impulse to build against the capacity of adults to destroy.

The prints are editions of three plus one artist's proof. Most Little Boy works measure 60 by 60 cm and are mounted on aluminium, while the Toyland prints are larger, reaching 105 cm. The gallery's text links the constructions to his earlier Beaufort photographs, taken at the castle in southern Lebanon and dated 2018. It adds that the series does not belong to one location.

Yammine was born in 1979 in Zekrit, Lebanon. He is a violinist and a photographer. The first part of Little Boy was shown in Hong Kong in 2026, at Soho House with Artbridger Gallery, during the week of Art Basel Hong Kong. The Beirut exhibition continues his earlier show Silent Impact: Narrative of Bullets, which Galerie Tanit presented at Difaf Gallery. Difaf specialises in limited-edition art prints and shows them in its spaces in Beirut and Cairo. The exhibition opens on 6 October and runs for just under two weeks, closing on Saturday 17 October.
