Biography

Raghad Al-Ahmad (b. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) is a Saudi artist who works in collage, installation, sculpture and digital film. Her subjects are religious, cultural and personal identity, explored through Islamic patterns and symbolic narratives. Her digital collages pair historical and contemporary images with references to the Bauhaus, Memphis postmodernism and classical Islamic architecture. Surrealism, Islamic miniature painting and her Hejazi heritage also shape the work.

Her 2018 cover for Design Magazine, issue 55 (Spirituality), shows a tree and figures like those in Islamic-era books. WOMEN IN ORBIT: Speculative Fictions, Satellite and Cyborg Bedouins (2022) brought together works on paper, sculpture and video. Rooted in Warmth (2025), an Ithra commission, was made with more than 50 women artisans in Al-Jawf. Its wooden seating structures are wrapped in handwoven rugs that rework Al-Sadu weaving. It draws on her childhood in the farmlands of Taif.

In 2018 she showed at the Saudi Art Council's Tasmeem Initiative and in Young Saudi Artists at Athr, both in Jeddah. Hafez Gallery, Jeddah, and Madina Art Center followed in 2019. Her solo exhibition WOMEN IN ORBIT was held at the Office of the Arts, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Thuwal (2022). Rooted in Warmth was shown at Concéntrico, Logroño, Spain (2025). It is shown at Design Doha Biennial, Fereej Al Asmakh, Doha (2026 to 2027).
