Biography

Majdulin Nasrallah is a Palestinian artist, designer and educator, born in 1996 and based in Doha, Qatar. She makes paintings, textiles, sculptural objects and installations. Her materials include oil on canvas, Majdalawi linen, embroidery thread, concrete, lace, ceramic and barbed wire.

Her subjects are memory, displacement and the way walls, borders and buildings shape daily life in Palestine. Disorient(al), a handmade rug produced during the Design Doha Residency Programme in 2024, turns the patterns of tatreez embroidery into motifs of walls, checkpoints, settlements and divided roads. In 1948, scented candles stand in key-shaped holders made of concrete. Exile is a hammock strung from barbed wire, and Mohasir Mohasar is a metal cage that doubles as a seat. Silent Witnesses (2026) looks at household objects changed by war and loss.

Nasrallah holds a BFA in interior design and an MFA in interdisciplinary design studies, completed in 2019, from Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. She was an artist in residence at the Fire Station in Doha from 2019 to 2020. In 2022 she showed in Majaz: Contemporary Art Qatar at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and in Nations by Artists in Toronto. Crafting Design Futures followed at the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, in 2024. Qatar Museums acquired an edition of Disorient(al).
