Dina Ali

Dina Ali was born in Saudi Arabia in 1975 and is a Palestinian-American artist based in Los Angeles. She paints in acrylic and collages paper, wallpaper, fabric and tar paper onto paper and wooden panels, often at a large scale. She trained in architecture, urban design and city planning before completing an MFA at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).

Her paintings look at how places are shaped through care, adaptation and reciprocity, and at what attachment to a place means. Her works include Portrait of a Cul De Sac (acrylic and paper on paper, 9 by 4.5 feet), Rooflines and The Neighbor to the Left and the Neighbor to the Right.

In Where Am I?, her solo exhibition at Kalim Bechara Art Gallery in Beirut in 2026, she turned to spaces changed by technology and shifting power.
