About
Tashkeel was founded in Dubai in 2008 as a studio and gallery for visual artists and designers by Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Its main building is in Nad Al Sheba 1, with a makerspace at Unit 89, Alserkal Avenue.
Its programme covers training, residencies, workshops, talks, exhibitions and publications, including the Critical Practice programme for visual artists and Tanween for UAE-based designers. A members' club gives artists and designers access to shared specialist studios. In 2022 it launched a commercial consultancy, Tasmeem Tashkeel.
