Aïshti Foundation

The Aïshti Foundation was founded by Tony Salamé and opened in 2015 on the seaside road at Jal El Dib, north of Beirut. It occupies exhibition spaces designed by the architect David Adjaye within a 35,000 square metre complex that also houses fashion boutiques, a bookshop, restaurants and a spa. The foundation states that its aim is "to collect, exhibit, preserve, and conduct visual research" in international art, with attention to the Middle East and a focus on living artists.

Its exhibitions draw on the Tony and Elham Salamé Collection of contemporary art, and Massimiliano Gioni curated the inaugural show in 2015. After an interruption caused by the war, the foundation reopened in October 2025 for its tenth anniversary with Flesh Flowers, a survey of more than 200 works by over seventy artists from the collection, curated by Gioni and Roberta Tenconi.
