About

XVA Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood of Dubai, established in 2003. The gallery describes the district, once called Al Bastakiya, as the oldest part of the city and a former settlement of traders near Dubai Fort. It shares its site with XVA Hotel, which has fifteen individually designed suites and rooms, three courtyards and wind towers, and with XVA Café, which serves vegetarian and vegan food.

Its programme centres on artists from the Arab world and South Asia, and it shows younger artists beside those with long careers. XVA also takes part in art fairs and works with other galleries on exhibitions beyond its own rooms. Artists with pages on its roster include Halim Al Karim, Mahmoud Hamadani, Behdad Lahooti and Morteza Zahedi. Its 2026 programme included Fractal by Huma Shoaib and White, a faculty exhibition of the Academy of Visual Arts curated by Tor Seidel. It went on to show Jane Beveridge's LOCAL, Charlie Koolhaas's After the Image and the group show Oblivion.

The gallery also runs a consultancy. Clients can commission work for a particular site or rent works on rotation, and XVA plans and hangs exhibitions. It advises on buying and managing a collection and organises the packing and shipping of art.
