Marfa'

Marfa' (Marfa' Projects SAL) is a commercial contemporary art gallery founded in Beirut in 2015 by Joumana Asseily. It is located in two garages near the customs house in the Marfa' neighbourhood, whose name means port in Arabic. The gallery space was destroyed in the port explosion of 4 August 2020 and reopened on 21 May 2021 with a group show, Water, bringing together all of its artists.

Marfa' works with local and regional artists on idea-based projects, and each exhibition is accompanied by parallel events and a publication. It represents artists including Mohamad Abdouni, Tamara Al-Samerraei, Caline Aoun, Vartan Avakian, Lamia Joreige, Seta Manoukian, Stéphanie Saadé, Rania Stephan and Raed Yassin, and presents them at fairs such as Art Basel, Art Basel Paris, Art Basel Qatar and Frieze London.
