About
Hafez Gallery was founded in Jeddah in 2014 by the cultural producer, collector and philanthropist Qaswra Hafez, whose career in the arts and publishing spans more than 25 years. The gallery takes its cue from Jeddah's history as a trading city at the crossroads of East and West, and its stated mission is to promote Arab art globally while supporting emerging talent within Saudi Arabia's artistic community. A Riyadh space followed in early 2024, and in 2026 the gallery opened a new venue in Al-Falah School in Historic Jeddah (Al-Balad), which it describes as the next chapter of its institutional journey.
The programme moves between modern and contemporary work from Saudi Arabia and the wider region, with themes of personal and cultural identity, spirituality and memory. The gallery represents artists including Ibrahim El Dessouki, Ahmed Nawar, Faisal Samra, Sara Al Abdali, Raeda Ashour, Lana Khayat, Donia Alshetairy, Bashaer Hawsawi and the light and projection artist Maryam Tariq. In 2026 it showed Lana Khayat at Art Dubai and Ibrahim El Dessouki at Frieze Seoul, and it has announced its first participation in Frieze London in October 2026 with a pairing of Ahmed Nawar and Faisal Samra.
