The Journey | الرحلة

The Journey (الرحلة) is a solo exhibition of paintings by Majd Kurdieh at Fann À Porter in Jumeirah 2, Dubai. It runs from 17 October to 30 November 2026.

The gallery describes it as a new series of hyperrealist narrative oil paintings. "He deepens his exploration of surrealism, using the symbolism of his characters and universe to convey an honest, introspective view on life's journey," the gallery writes. The exhibition page shows Untitled (2025), oil on canvas, 150 by 100 cm. The gallery notes that he uses cartoon-like characters and that most of his works carry his own quotes in Arabic.

Majd Kurdieh was born in Aleppo, Syria, in 1985 and lives and works in Amsheet, Lebanon. He studied at Damascus University of Fine Arts, graduating in 2008 according to his CV. His earlier solo exhibitions at Fann À Porter in Dubai include Stealing Sadness (2018), Watermelon Peace (2021) and Butterflies (2024). He has had retrospective exhibitions in Beirut in 2023 and at Azad Art Gallery, Cairo, in 2020. The Atassi Foundation holds his work.
