Biography

Born in Damascus, Syria, in 1991, Sarah Zeryab is a Palestinian filmmaker and artist. She works in film, performance and listening formats, producing video works and installations, sonic pieces and radio mixes.

Her video The Retired Peasantry dates from 2025. In May 2025 she contributed the sonic piece نحن لا نعترف to 3ezwa, a takeover broadcast on Refuge Worldwide. In June 2024 she made the mix Savvyzaar meets Radio Alhara. Her 2026 work Notes on Camp (أول الرصاص، أول الحجارة) is a single-channel video installation of forty minutes. Set in the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp, it travels from the camp's old cemetery, where Abu Jihad was buried in 1988, to its new one. It also turns to the assassination of a man named Ali in 2023. Video footage and archival images are arranged in a non-linear, epistolary form.

Notes on Camp is a commission for the 2026 Biennale de l'Image en Mouvement. It is shown in Becoming the Ocean at Quechlet El Attarine, Tunis, from 24 October to 22 November 2026, as part of Jaou Tunis 2026.
