Biography

Noor Bseiso (b. 1998) is a Palestinian Jordanian artist based in Amman who works in painting, drawing and ceramics. Her subjects are cultural identity, heritage and socio-political themes in the SWANA (South West Asian North African) region. Her storytelling takes on imperialism, patriarchy and capitalism with a playful aesthetic. She paints mainly in acrylic on canvas and draws on her experience as a set designer. Her large-scale scenes mix 2D and 3D elements and spill onto the floor as set-like environments.

Poems, novels and articles by SWANA thinkers often inform her process. The balcony (2025) is an acrylic on canvas measuring 140 x 200 cm. The Soft Tops series (2025) combines acrylic and embroidery on canvas. Her drawings and smaller paintings focus on composition, colour, shape, texture and layering.

She was artist in residence at the Mohammad and Maher Abu Ghazaleh Foundation, Jordan, in 2023 and 2024. Group exhibitions include Holiday Show at Eric Firestone Gallery (2019) and PAROXYSM at Westbeth Gallery (2023). In 2023 she showed in My Red Your Blue at the Sungkok Art Museum, South Korea, and Time Traveling at Abul Huda Gallery. In 2026 she joined the group show The Practice of Accumulation at Wadi Finan Art Gallery, Amman.
