Biography

Nadi Abusaada is a Palestinian architect and historian whose practice joins scholarship, curating and installation. His installations range from a plaster reconstruction of a lost Jerusalem fountain to work with still and moving images, and draw on archives and private collections.

Much of his work returns to the Arab exhibitions staged in Mandate Jerusalem in 1933 and 1934, and to the Palace Hotel that housed them. He curated Al-Ma'rad at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre in Ramallah in 2022, and the research exhibition Resurgent Nahda followed at Darat al-Funun in Amman in 2024. Microcosm of a Nation (2023), shown in Guest Relations at Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai, turned to the hotel building itself. Troubled Waters (2026), shown at Amman Design Week, imagines one of its fountains in white plaster around a single surviving tile.

In 2023 he also showed Tannour, made with Wesam Asali, at ETH Zürich, and Pasolini's Travelogue, made with Luzan Munayer, in Instant Modernism at the A. M. Qattan Foundation in Ramallah. He trained in architecture at the University of Toronto and the University of Cambridge, where he completed an MPhil and a PhD. He has held postdoctoral fellowships at MIT and ETH Zürich, teaches at the American University of Beirut and is Head Curator of The Palestinian Museum.
