Biography
Michel Chidiac is an artist based in Beirut who works in oil, watercolour and pastel. He is an interior architect by profession and trained at the Académie Charpentier in Paris. His 2026 paintings take up architecture, urban structures and volumes, handled through abstraction, refracted light and geometry. The painting on the Prismes invitation shows angular, block-like volumes in ochre, brown, cream and red. They rise on a cluster of thin vertical stilts against a grey-blue ground. He signs with a monogram in a small box at the lower right.
Agora Gallery's page for his Aqua Art Miami presentation (2024) shows Tarot 2, Cheminees de Fee, Rio and Opalescence 2. Tarot 2 is an oil on canvas of about 80 by 100 cm. The gallery's 2024 text describes his paintings as soft, rounded shapes and primary colours in flowing, sometimes geometric compositions. Prismes (2026) brings together 25 oils on canvas and 23 watercolours.
Chidiac has shown his work in both Paris and Beirut. His solo exhibition Jardin Stellaire (Stellar Garden) gathered two years of work at Galerie Cheriff Tabet, Beirut, from 7 to 24 May 2024. In December 2024 Agora Gallery presented his work at Aqua Art Miami. He returned to Galerie Cheriff Tabet with the solo exhibition Prismes, which opened on 27 October 2026.
