teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi

teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is a building given over to immersive installations by teamLab, the Tokyo-based art collective. It stands on the waterfront of the Saadiyat Cultural District and opened on 18 April 2025. Miral Experiences, part of Miral, operates it.

The works follow teamLab's idea of Environmental Phenomena. Air, water and light become the material, and each piece shifts with its surroundings and with the visitors moving through it. Rooms hold works such as Massless Suns and Dark Suns, Levitation Void and Light Vortex. There is no fixed route, so visitors find their own way between them.

The building covers about 17,000 square metres. teamLab Architects designed it and carried it out with the Abu Dhabi practice MZ Architects; work on site began in 2021. teamLab was formed in 2001 and brings together artists, programmers, engineers, animators, mathematicians and architects.
