About

Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar is a biennial photography festival set up by Qatar Museums. Its first edition ran in Doha from 24 March to 30 May 2021. Khalifa Ahmad Al Obaidly is its director.

Each edition combines exhibitions, awards, commissions, talks and workshops for photographers working in Qatar and across Western Asia and North Africa. The third edition, in 2025, took belonging as its theme across eight exhibitions and more than 95 photographers. Its main show, As I Lay Between Two Seas, showed Arab artists from three generations, with their diasporas.

Between festivals, Tasweer gives the Single Image Award, which named twenty winners in 2026, and Project Award grants for photographers from the region. It also runs a residency for Qatar-based photographers at Tasweer Studios in Bayt Al Wakrah, in old Al Wakrah. The fourth edition is due in 2027.
