About
Souq Waqif Art Center is an art centre inside Souq Waqif, the old market in central Doha. It stages exhibitions, teaches classes and gives artists linked to it a place to work. Press reports in 2024 and 2025 named Rowdha Al Mansoori as its manager.
Teaching is organised in five departments: painting, sculpture, pottery, handicrafts and Arabic calligraphy. Courses run through the year. In October 2026 the centre offered evening classes in painting perfume bottles, portrait drawing with coloured pencils and Diwani calligraphy.
Its exhibitions often turn to Qatari heritage and the sea. The centre has shown Indulged in Their Seas, paintings by the Qatari artist Faisal Al Abdullah, and Art Harbour, a show of work by its member artists. Earlier programmes included Desert Legacy, Ahmed Awad's paintings of Arabian horses, in January 2025.
