About

The Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival is a yearly art festival held at Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village, an old pearling village in Ras Al Khaimah. The Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research founded it in 2013 as a non-profit event. It started with 30 emerging local artists and was called the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival until 2023.

Each edition has a theme and spreads exhibitions, installations, film screenings, workshops and performances among the village's coral-stone buildings and ruins. The 2024 edition, In Motion, brought together over 130 artists from 36 countries, and 2025 took Memory as its theme. Civilizations, the 2026 edition, ran from 16 January to 8 February with a main exhibition curated by Alfio Tommasini.

The 2026 festival also housed the first Ras Al Khaimah Contemporary Art Biennale, curated by Sharon Toval. The 2027 edition, Lost in Translation, runs from 22 January to 14 February 2027. Its jury awards prizes in photography, painting and drawing, sculpture and installation, and video art.
