About

L'ÉCOLE Middle East, School of Jewelry Arts is the Dubai campus of L'ÉCOLE, a school Van Cleef & Arpels has backed since its founding in Paris in 2012. It occupies the ground floor of Building 10 in Dubai Design District (d3) and is directed by Sophie Claudel. Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai are its other permanent addresses.

Its courses and talks are open to everyone, from children to collectors, and need no prior knowledge. Art historians, gemmologists and craftspeople teach the history of jewellery, gemstones and the techniques of making jewels. All proceeds from public courses and talks go to Dubai Cares for youth education.

The campus also stages free temporary exhibitions. Poetry of Birds ran from November 2025 to April 2026. It set jewels and gouache drawings beside carpets, ceramics, metalware and miniatures lent by the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization and Dubai Museums. It also showed photographs by the Emirati artist Faisal Al Rais. The next exhibition, Recreating Gesture: Crafting a Gold Necklace from the Iron Age, opens during Dubai Design Week 2026.
