Izmir, Turkey, established 2003
A non-profit contemporary art organisation in İzmir, with an artists' compound in Urla.

About
K2 Contemporary Art Center is a non-profit contemporary art organisation working in İzmir since 2003 and led by its founding director, Ayşegül Kurtel. The K2 Contemporary Art Association, set up in 2006, gives it legal standing as a non-governmental organisation.
K2 runs public programmes of exhibitions, talks, screenings, performances and publications, with a priority on artists early in their careers. It has organised PORTIZMIR, the İzmir International Contemporary Art Triennial, since 2007, and keeps a library and artist archive open for research. It also manages K2 Urla Breathing Zone, an artists' compound in forest at Urla that hosts residencies.
From 2002 K2 was based in Büyük Kardıçalı Han, a Republican-era building in the city, with its office, gallery and library. The building was damaged in the earthquake of 30 October 2020, which ended K2's work there.
