ISTANBUL'74
Istanbul, Turkey, established 2009
An arts and culture platform with an exhibition house in Arnavutköy, on the Bosphorus in Istanbul.

About
ISTANBUL'74 is an arts and culture platform based in Istanbul and New York. It is the exhibitions arm of '74GROUP, which Demet Müftüoğlu-Eşeli and Alphan Eşeli founded in 2009. Since November 2024 its Istanbul home has been a renovated five-storey traditional wooden building in Arnavutköy.
The platform curates exhibitions and large public installations with contemporary artists from Turkey and abroad, often in partnership with international galleries. Artists it has worked with include Tracey Emin, JR, Alex Prager, José Parlá, Diana Al-Hadid, Kezban Arca Batıbeki and Mehmet Ali Uysal. In September 2026 it opened Robert Montgomery's second solo exhibition in Istanbul, marking fifteen years of work together.
Each floor of the Arnavutköy house has its own use, with exhibition rooms, a reading room and a listening room. '74GROUP also organises IST. FESTIVAL, the Istanbul International Arts and Culture Festival, and runs a creative agency.
