About

İBB Kültür AŞ is the culture company of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. It was set up in October 1989 as a commercial joint stock company to deliver culture, arts and tourism services. Its legal name is İstanbul Kültür ve Sanat Ürünleri Ticaret A.Ş. Osman Cenk Akın has been general manager since 2025.

The company runs municipal sites including Miniatürk, the Panorama 1453 History Museum, the Yerebatan and Şerefiye cisterns, the Harbiye open-air theatre and the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall. Its work also takes in culture centres, festivals, publishing and the İstanbul Kitapçısı bookshops.

In the visual arts it runs Taksim Sanat, a public exhibition space at the Taksim Metro entrance that supports independent artists. In 2026 Taksim Sanat hosted a show for the 212 Photography Istanbul festival. The company opened its Digital Experience Centre in Sütlüce in February 2024, with exhibitions built on digital technology; it is closed while new content is prepared.
