GubGub Studios

GubGub Studios is an artist-run space of shared studios on Street 15 of Doha's Industrial Area. A group of practitioners set it up as a cooperative, and it launched on 6 February 2026, during the week of Art Basel Qatar.

Artists rent affordable long-term studios and share a wood shop, a print studio, photography equipment and a library of art books. A multipurpose room hosts exhibitions, talks and screenings. Members also draw on the workshops and material suppliers around them in the Industrial Area. An advisory committee and a group of mentors support the artists.

The launch exhibition, To Unfold, set up a tent for each of twelve artists across the warehouse, curated by Mo Reda and Sebastian Betancur-Montoya. Since May 2026 the studios have issued 13, boxed sets of works by three founders, limited to thirteen copies and sold to fund the programme.
